I love the deviation from the narrative and into the mind of the narrator in paragraph three. I had to read it over a few times. It’s hard for a stream-of-consciousness break not to be so abrupt transition-wise. But it felt extremely real. Like in that moment of danger the mind wanders to some strange memory. An association.

And to Brandon’s comment above. HAHAHAH. You’re the best, man.
